Neighborhoods & Communities

CIEE, Council International Educational Exchange is happy to announce that New Kent High School will have a Chinese high school exchange student arriving in August to study for the school year. She is being hosted by the Mary family. NKHS has been very receptive to CIEE and the exchange progam as the students have enjoyed sharing their culture with the their host family, students and faculty. They have participated in many volunteer activites as well as extracuricular activities including sports, band, art, horse back riding and more.

NKHS has invited CIEE to have another student attend New Kent this school term. There are several students who are in need of host or welcome families. These kids provide their spending money, health insurance and will participate in school, family and volunteering. Families consist of single parents, single adults, with small and/or teenage children and empty nesters. A loving and safe environment is needed.

The students represent 50 various countries with differing cultures, and interests including swimming, tennis, horse back riding, gardening, band, art, chorus and more. They are arriving within days and are in need of a family who would like to open their hearts and homes. As a host parent for nearly 10 years, I can say the experience is so rewarding. Call Becky Bell, local coordinator for additional info. 804-928-1948 or email at ccfc2355@msn.com or visit www.ciee.org

LOCAL WATER TREATMENT COMPANY EXPANDING AND OFFERING FREE WATER ANALYSIS
Posted by WaterPro on 2011/3/21 16:43:02 (0 reads)

Water Pro is expanding their coverage area to include the Richmond and surrounding areas along with the Tidewater and Hampton Roads areas! Recently Water Pro has experienced a high demand for customers that are concerned about the quality of the water in their wells and the safety of their drinking water.
Gloucester, VA - Water Pro, Inc. recently increased their coverage area from the Middle Peninsula/Northern Neck and Tidewater/Hampton Roads areas to include the Richmond and surrounding areas. Why the increase in coverage area? Brian Bayford, Corporate V.P. responds, “In recent months, we’ve had an overwhelming residential and commercial demand in the Richmond and surrounding areas for our quality service and products. People want good tasting, high quality water that they can drink out of the tap without having to purchase bottled water. Government and commercial facilities are now able to ensure their employees and customers that they are providing safe, clean water with the Water Pro name.â€
Water Pro installs water purification and filtration systems and provides maintenance for most brands of filtration equipment. They offer sampling and analysis for real estate closings, well and pump inspections, water softeners, filters, acid neutralizers, and reverse osmosis units. They service residential, restaurants, hotels, convenience stores, community water systems, and other government and commercial facilities. In their 10th year, Water Pro’s licenses include Virginia Board of Waterworks, Master Plumber, Master Well Driller, and Class A Contractor. Memberships include board member of Eastern Water Quality Association and member of the Water Quality Association.
Additionally, Bayford states, “The residential and commercial water treatment business has increased as the demand for quality drinking water grows. We credit our increase to our satisfied customers who have spread the word about our ability to help others by providing quality service and products. We service many local ‘weekend homes’ owned by Richmond area residents. At either home, they know they can trust Water Pro for good tasting and safe water.â€
Bayford, not only responsible for overseeing day to day operations, also oversees his sales staff and throughout the year teaches at water-oriented seminars up and down the east coast.
Water Pro is offering a free water analysis in the Richmond area which includes a water distribution system inspection (pump, pressure tank, and flow rates). To request a free water analysis for your home or business contact Water Pro at 804.212.1484 or www.waterprousa.com
